Okay, Mollie & Elise’s romantic engagement photos? I can’t even! These two took “romantic day in LA” to a whole new level. They brought all the good vibes, the sweetest energy, and a whole lot of love to every stop—and the best part? We captured it all on FILM! Yep, every. single. shot. This session just proves that film isn’t just “vintage”—it’s timeless, beautiful, and gives you that nostalgic, deep-in-your-feels kinda look that digital just can’t touch.
So, we wanted this session to feel like a love letter to Los Angeles, with all the spots that meant something to them. Mollie & Elise totally nailed the “let’s just be ourselves and enjoy our favorite places” vibe, making this one of the most natural sessions ever! We hit up the Los Angeles Public Library first—a seriously stunning spot with architecture that makes every photo look effortlessly chic.
Then, we dropped by Found Oyster—and if you’re sensing the romance here, you’re spot on! This spot holds a special place in their story because it’s where Elise popped the question to Mollie. Imagine the two of them, just as in love now as that day, reliving such a beautiful memory. Talk about picture-perfect moments, right?
Our next stop? BESTIES for some soft serve. Because what’s an LA love story without a little ice cream? Between laughs and sweet moments over cones, it was all about capturing those silly, real-life moments. As we headed back, we made a few “let’s stop here!” detours—any cool crosswalk or building front was fair game. Finally, we wrapped up at Barnsdall Art Park in front of the Hollyhock House (designed by none other than Frank Lloyd Wright!). Add a few photos with the Hollywood sign in the background, and we had ourselves the ultimate LA day.
This is what I loved about Mollie & Elise: they were just so THEM for their romantic engagement photos. They knew the spots they wanted, they had that relaxed, “we’re on a date, just with a camera following us” energy, and it made the entire day feel natural. Nothing forced, nothing posed—it was all genuine love, real laughs, and moments that reflect who they are as a couple. I just had to capture the magic happening in front of me.
For posing, I didn’t want anything stiff or overly “styled.” Mollie & Elise have personalities that are just too big for that! We went for a blend of editorial and candid shots—striking that balance of looking like total pros while staying true to their personalities. They were down for anything, and that made every moment just shine. If you’re a couple who loves to keep it real, trust me: let yourself have fun, and the magic will happen
There’s something extra special about film. It captures depth, it’s rich with character, and there’s that perfect mix of rawness and romance. Mollie & Elise’s gallery is exactly what I mean when I say film gives you timeless vibes—it’s like their love story, frozen in time, with a richness that only film can give. If you’re considering having film engagement photos taken or your wedding on film, let me just say: DO IT! The way it captures light, mood, and emotion is unforgettable.
Mollie & Elise made this session one for the books. I couldn’t have asked for a better day or a sweeter couple.
