If you’re looking for a venue that has all the vibes, Quail Ranch in Simi Valley delivers. Nestled in Ventura County, this private estate is a hidden gem. The sprawling avocado orchards, citrus trees, and that breathtaking oak tree ceremony spot? Unreal!

But what really makes Quail Ranch in Simi Valley stand out? The way it seamlessly blends historic elegance with natural beauty. You get the best of both worlds—timeless Spanish architecture and lush greenery that looks straight out of a fairytale! Every time I shoot here, I fall even more in love with how the venue effortlessly creates the perfect backdrop for both intimate moments and grand celebrations. The golden hour here? Absolutely next level. This venue is just a photographer’s dream! I can’t wait to capture so many more sweet, emotional moments here, and it’s the kind of place that just makes everything feel extra special.

Quail Ranch is perfectly situated in Simi Valley, California, offering a private setting while still being conveniently accessible from major cities like Los Angeles (about an hour’s drive) and Santa Barbara (just under two hours away). The drive to Quail Ranch is a scenic journey through Southern California’s beautiful landscape, with breathtaking mountain views and nearby vineyards adding to the overall charm of the venue.

For out-of-town guests, I recommend coordinating transportation options like shuttle buses or car services to make the commute easier, especially since the venue is set back from the more bustling areas. There are also plenty of accommodations nearby in Simi Valley, with additional options in neighboring cities for guests looking for somewhere to stay. Quail Ranch’s offers a sense of seclusion while still being within reach of all the conveniences that make the area such a desirable location for a wedding!

The Dreamiest Getting Ready Spaces

The Bridal Suite: A beautiful, room by the pool, surrounded by lush trees and gardens, offering both privacy and charm. It’s the kind of place that makes every detail pop—hello, perfect lighting for bridal portraits! As everyone was getting ready, Emma and I stepped out by the pool for some fun, relaxed photos of her in her rollers, soaking in the morning excitement. It was the perfect opportunity to capture an old-timey, vintage aesthetic, giving off that effortlessly glamorous, classic Hollywood vibe.

The Groom’s Suite: The groom’s room was a total vibe! Think rich wood-paneled walls, a pool table, and a fireplace. It’s the ideal mix of cozy and sophisticated for pre-ceremony moments. Peter and his groomsmen took full advantage of the space, playing a few rounds of pool before suiting up for the big day.

One of the things I love most about Quail Ranch is how many incredible photo opportunities it offers. From the scenic vineyard views to the lush gardens every corner of this venue is a photographer’s dream. The golden-hour light at Quail Ranch is absolutely breathtaking, making for the most romantic portraits.

Some of my favorite spots for wedding photos include:

  • The Oak Tree Ceremony Site: The dappled sunlight filtering through the branches makes for stunning, ethereal images.
  • The Orchard: The rows of citrus and avocado trees create a serene and natural setting for intimate couple’s portraits.

Quail Ranch offers one breathtaking outdoor space for ceremonies. It features  a stunning oak tree that provides shade and an intimate ambiance. The Spanish-tiled stone aisle, surrounded by citrus groves and blooming flowers, adds to the beauty of this space! If you’re dreaming of a rustic yet elegant setting, Quail Ranch has the perfect backdrop for your vows.

Emma & Peter’s  Quail Ranch Wedding ceremony was SO beautiful! One of my favorite things about the ceremony space at  Quail Ranch was the towering oak tree which created the most romantic setting. The Spanish-tiled steps leading to the ceremony added just the right touch of old-world charm. And when Emma walked down the aisle? There was not a dry eye in sight!

A Reception Under the Stars

Quail Ranch offers an outdoor reception space that is the perfect garden setting for your wedding! The open-air dining experience is one of my favorite features of Quail Ranch weddings!  Picture this: round tables decorated with crisp white linens, delicate floral centerpieces, and rustic wooden chairs, all set beneath the shade of trees. The twinkling lights added a dreamy touch as the space was transformed into a cozy, open-air reception area. Guests enjoyed an intimate garden atmosphere, sharing heartfelt toasts and laughter. As the sun dipped below the hills, the entire space seemed to glow with a golden warmth, and the laughter of friends and family filled the air. It felt like one of those nights where time slows down just enough for you to soak in every little moment—like the way Emma & Peter looked at each other like they were in their own little world. There was this feeling, this energy, that made everything feel so alive and full of love.
